When you install Windows XP you get the choice of using a FAT or NTFS file system. Red Hat can write and read FAT, can only read NTFS without (probably) destroying data. I mount my FAT Windows partition on a Linux mount point and can write to it from Linux. I suppose that with Vista FAT won't be an option any
